Our Company

At 52 Power Systems, we are a team of dedicated professionals committed to providing quality electrical services to our customers. we aim to treat our customers' problem like our problems. We take pride in our work and strive to exceed our customers' expectations.

Why did we choose the name ’52 Power Systems’?

Because the ANSI & IEEE designation for a circuit breaker is ‘52’, and circuit breakers are the most important components of our electrical systems. More and more functionality is being built into today’s modern circuit breakers. They can meter, monitor, direct, annunciate, and even control our power in ways that simply weren’t possible just a few years ago. They are taking over many of the function of other components in electrical systems. They keep our current flowing smoothly and safely. They sit idle like a watchdog, sometimes for years on end, and then when the situation may turn catastrophic without their intervention, they spring into action like an electrical super hero. And also… because we think breakers are beautiful! Ha! Even though we love breakers, we recognize that they are just one piece of these complicated and fascinating systems, and so we have put major efforts into ensuring we are well-rounded and able to perform confidently in any situation.

When did we get into this field?

Our team has been licensed in the state of CT for over 20 years with experience dating back over 30 years. We’ve been factory trained by Square D and Siemens for approx. 15 years and have maintained great relationships with both OEMs. But just because we are most experienced with the two best manufacturers doesn’t mean we don’t understand everyone’s gear. We’ve been working on all mfgrs gear since the 90’s, and are comfortable with all of it. Over the course of this fantastic journey we’ve forged great bonds with our customers, and our willingness to treat our customers’ problems as though they were our problems allow us to maintain these great relationships for decades.

Why do we do this?

It’s what we love. Its that simple. There is an acute need for switchgear specialists in our world, and within our industry. Without a clear training pathway for this niche, there won’t be a huge bench of players to pick from. And with that, the skills gap needs to be filled. We love seeing a problem solved, or a new installation look like art, or see a system perform at its peak for decades, or even see a system that was in disrepair or damaged eqpt become renewed and serve its intended purpose as though it were new. To put it simply, we found our calling, and can both enjoy what we do while helping our customers fill a need daily.

Who are we?

We are a company of licensed (state of CT), insured, factory trained, NICET certified field engineers with decades of experience working on a very very broad spectrum of electrical systems from low voltage datacom systems through 345kV. We’re most comfortable in the 120VAC to 34.5kV area of our industry and have built a strong relationship with our customers over the years (as evidenced by our testimonials below) helping them build, upgrade, and maintain high quality power systems across the country.

How do we do this?

We put safety first, sometimes to a fault. While there is such a thing as being over safe, there are often many many more instances where that little bit of safety can really make a difference in the outcome of a project or situation.

Similarly, as we stated earlier, we put our customers first, and treat their problems like they were our own. That causes us to take what we do very seriously, and look at each situation through a unique lenses that puts the customer first.

We almost named our company after the Golden Rule because we feel as though you get what you give in life, and in business. That causes us to approach all situations with a high degree of integrity and diligence. If we didn’t care about this industry or our customers with everything we have, then we would simply choose another industry… and that’s something we’re not interested in doing.

We pride ourselves on performing high quality work on all forms and facets of electrical equipment, concentrating on low and medium voltage switchgear.
